Pentax K10D digital SLR camera
Personal Review
Introduction
Why did I choose a Pentax K10D instead of a Canon 400D or a Nikon D80?
For me the most important features were the weather-proof and dust-proof
body, and the in-camera image stabilising ("Shake Reduction"). Neither the
Canon nor the Nikon have either of these features.
Also:
- I prefer SD memory cards; the Canon only takes CF.
- It has spot metering; the Canon does not.
- It has a small low-power LCD as well as the colour LCD; the Canon does not.
- It much very much cheaper than the Nikon (I got it in a sale).
- Given the list of other features it's clear that Pentax are targeting
the likes of the Canon EOS 30D and Nikon D200.
