Sediment laden water from river runoff can be seen in the White Seas, Onega and Dvina Bays. The course of the Northern Dvina river is clearly visible as it flows into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea . The city of Arkhangelsk (formely known as Archangel) is located on the delta of the Dvina river. Areas of snow cover and numerous examples of lee waves and cloud streets are also visible.
