Fires on the border of western Russia's Leningrad Oblast and eastern Estonia are producing smoke plumes which are drifting out into the Gulf of Finland and carrying over the Baltic Sea. Smoke plumes from numerous fires in Finland are also visible. An algal bloom can be seen in the Gulf of Bothnia and a plume of sediment laden water from the River Neva is discharging into the Gulf of Finland off Saint Petersburg. There are also examples of cloud streets and lee waves over areas of Russia and Scandinavia.
