Extensive ice cover can be seen in northwestern Russia's Pechora Sea and White Sea. The Pechora Sea is a southeastern extension of the Barents Sea and covers an area eastwards from Kolguyev Island to the Yugorsky Peninsula and northwards to Novaya Zemlya.(upper right-hand side of image)
