A large swathe of Eastern and Western Europe are cloud free due to an area of anticyclonic high pressure. Cloud streets and lee waves can be seen over the Baltic States, France, Russia, Scandinavia, Scotland and Spain. Numerous thunder clouds are visible over Greece and Bulgaria. There are also rope clouds in the western Mediterranean, aircraft contrails over the Hungarian Plain and orographic cloud streaming northwards from the Pyrenees. Various examples of sediment plumes from river runoff are also evident.
