The National Hurricane Center reported that Hurricane Irma made landfall at Cudjoe Key in the Lower Florida Keys at 1310 UTC as a Category 4 storm on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale (SSHWS) with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 115 knots (132.5 mph) and gusts of 140 knots (161.3 mph). The most recent report regarding Hurricane Jose (1200 UTC) stated that Jose was tracking north-westwards about 250 miles north, north-west of the Northern Leeward Islands as a Category 4 storm (SSHWS) with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 115 knots (132.5 mph) and gusts of 140 knots (161.3 mph).
