The National Hurricane Center stated that Hurricane Patricia made landfall at approximately 6:15 pm Central Daylight Time (2315 UTC) along the coast of south-western Mexico near Cuixmala about 55 miles west, north-west of Manzanillo, Mexico as a Category 5 storm (Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) with a maximum sustained wind speed of 145 knots (165 mph). Hurricane Olaf a Category 3 storm (Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) tracks northwards over the Central Pacific with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 105 knots (121.0 mph) and gusts of 130 knots (149.8 mph).
