This image shows Hurricane Patricia during peak intensity as a Category 5 storm (Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 175 knots (201.4 mph) and gusts of 215 knots (247.4 mph). Patricia was tracking northwards at this time approximately 125 nautical miles south-west of Manzanillo, Mexico. The National Hurricane Center reported that Patricia is the strongest hurricane on record in the National Hurricane Centerís area of responsibility (AOR) which includes the Atlantic and the eastern North Pacific basins. Hurricane Olaf tracks northwards as a Category 3 storm (Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 105 knots (121.0 mph) and gusts of 130 knots (149.8 mph) about 640 nautical miles east, south-east of Hilo, Hawaii according to the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.
