The Central Pacific Hurricane Center, Honolulu reported that Hurricane Ana was tracking in a north-westerly direction south-west of the Big Island, Hawaii when this image was acquired. Ana was about 155 nautical miles south-west of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and approximately 245 nautical miles south of Honolulu as a Category 1 storm (Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 75 knots (86.4 mph) and gusts of 90 knots (103.7 mph). Tropical Storm Trudy tracks eastwards off Mexico’s Pacific coast about 85 nautical miles east, south-east of Acapulco with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 50 knots (57.6 mph) and gusts of 60 knots (69.1 mph) according to the National Hurricane Center, Miami, Florida.
