The snow cover across Northern Italy’s Po Valley highlights the course of the River Po and its tributaries, the numerous cities, towns and villages of the region and their interlinking transport networks. Snow is also visible over the Alps, Northern Apennines, Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Lichtenstein, Slovenia and Switzerland. Sediment from river run-off discolours the water of the Gulfs of Genoa and Venice and the Northern Adriatic Sea.
