Tropical Cyclone Oswald tracks east, north-eastwards over the Gulf of Carpentaria off the south-west coast of Cape York Peninsula, Queensland, Australia. The Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre in Brisbane reported that Oswald was at this time a Category 1 storm (Australian tropical cyclone intensity scale) with a 10-minute average sustained wind speed of 35 knots (65km/h).
