Hurricane Paul tracks in a north north-easterly direction over the eastern Pacific Ocean approximately 415 nautical miles south-west of the southern tip of Baja California Sur, Mexico. Paul was at this time a Category 3 storm (Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 105 knots (121.0 mph) and gusts of 125 knots (144.0 mph).
