At the time this image was acquired the National Hurricane Center reported that Tropical Storm Nadine was tracking in a west south-westerly direction approximately 455 nautical miles south south-west of the Azores with a 1-minute sustained average wind speed of 40 knots (46.1 mph) and gusts of 50 knots (57.6 mph).
