When this image was acquired high pressure was centred over Wales. The majority of the United Kingdom enjoyed dry, settled and sunny conditions with Southampton recording the highest UK temperature of 27.3 degrees Centigrade (81.14 degrees Fahrenheit). Areas of fog and coastal stratus can be seen in the Irish Sea, Celtic Sea, English Channel and North Sea. Aircraft contrails and dispersal trails are visible off and over Ireland and algal blooms are evident in the North Sea.
