An area of low pressure is centred over the Atlantic Ocean to the west of the British Isles. Although Ireland is cloud obscured and lee waves are visible over Scotland a large swathe of England and Wales is cloud free. Fog is evident off and over the Channel Islands and algal blooms can be seen in the Bay of Biscay and North Sea.
